The isotype controls are monoclonal antibodies not directed against an antigen normally expressed on human cells. They are unable to bind and stain cells. The isotype controls are used to position the markers on the fluorescence histograms with the purpose to identify the exact position of the negative populations and to estimate the amount of non-specific binding of the monoclonal antibodies to cell surface antigens and components in peripheral blood and tissue. The isotype controls belong to the same immunoglobulin Подкласс and conjugate with the same fluorochrome of the relevant monoclonal antibody.
